Customers Reviews 2008-12-28 Worked as expected Bought a cellular and credits for a short stay in the USA. It worked as expected, I had no problems with it. | 2008-12-06 Tracfone has been great service Tracfone has been exceptionally wonderful towards me. I am sorry that the other people have had such a bad time with the service. I've already had my tracfone for 1 1/2 years, and have been very pleased. When I first got my tracfone registered, the process only took about five minutes. Where we live, my husband sometimes can't get reception on his Nextel, but I always get reception. The reception is clean and crisp. I would love to recommend this service to anyone. If you can't get their 1-800 number to work, you can always talk to them on-line via email. | 2008-08-29 Tracfone: Good value, poor customer service. Good inexpensive cell phone service for those who don't use a lot of minutes. Get a phone that comes with double minutes for the life of the phone and use coupon codes when adding minutes. Search the web for sites that publish the coupon codes. Example: buy a 60 minute card for $20 and use a coupon code to get an additional 60 minutes giving a total of 180 minutes (3 hours) of airtime and 3 months of service for $20.
Their customer service people use interactive scripts to respond to problems. The reps don't actually know how to solve problems. If you call about something that fits into their script you're ok. If not, you will end up going around in circles repeating the same script over and over without solving the problem. | 2008-05-05 Wish I could give it a zero I wish Amazon offered no stars as an option, so I could say what I really think of Tracfone. We purchased one and activated it, and it has never worked from day one. All it will do is give us an error message that says something to the effect that "service is not available" even though we've activated it and paid for many minutes. If you try their customer service, be prepared to be put on hold for hours, transferred from person to person, asked the same questions each time, with no assistance offered. Each person we spoke to (after incredible waits and multiple hang ups) said the phone was activated and they didn't know why it didn't work. We've spent about 12 hours on the phone so far, trying to get what we paid for, and with no end in sight. I'm ready to just consider it a loss and toss it in the trash. Be warned. | 2007-10-18 I absolutely LOVE Tracfone! I've had a Tracfone for years, and wouldn't even consider using a cellphone where I get a monthly bill, cause I've seen how high those bills can get! You pay as you go. Period. No money at this time to refill your minutes? Then wait & refill when you get some $$, that's all! Bonehead simple. I guess if you're a person who can't live without a cellphone sticking outta your ear, tho, then a contract cell with a BIGBIG pool of minutes is a better choice for you. If you can restrain yourself from blabbing, like I can, then go with Tracfone! Their flip phone is awesome, keeps you from accidentally using your minutes when you put it in your pocket! | |
