hate this battery
The only reason I give it 2 stars is because it actually worked for a while. Initially when I bought my camera, the casio li-ion NP-20 battery that came with it worked for just 13 months. Considering that my warranty in Belgium was just 12 months, I had to go to a service center that could not explain what was wrong with my camera and why did it stop working even though it was fully charged before it dropped dead. They charged me a whopping 60 euros for shipping the camera back to casio to "analyze" and returned it back to me after 2 weeks with simply a replaced battery. So ok, I was upset with the price tag but at least happy that the camera was working. And one year down the line - guess what?? I was just trying to import the photos from the Yankees parade of yesterday and the stupid thing died on me again while the camera was docked! It does not turn on anymore and is just dead, just like the other time. i was planing to go sight seeing in NYC today and now do not have a camera - I really hate this, what a piece of junk. I will try to get a cheap off-brand battery to see if I can resuscitate the camera at least, otherwise both the camera and the battery will go to the garbage

so far so good
The battery that was replaced lasted less than a year, as far as holding a charge it was average.

Safe easy fix for dead battery
Instead of trying to strap a car battery to your camera try using the charger to "reboot" the battery. If your charger is blinking and not charging, see what gianna says:
"By Gianna "Gianna" (UT) - See all my reviews

My NP 20 gave me the flashing red light of death and I got Casio to replace it. Then I had the same problem with my second NP 20 so I dug around for a way to fix it and I found the following advice on a site called FixYa. It worked instantly and I didn't risk ruining my battery.

I had the same problem as this.
what i did was...
i kept putting the battery on the charger then took it off as soon as the red light came on.
i did this about 6 times.
doing this puts a bit of charge in the battery each time before the charger starts to flash.
after the battery as got enough charge in it it can start to charge.
hope this helps. "

This worked for me...it took me about 2 minutes not 6 times but eventually the light comes on as soon as the battery is entered and charging begins.

NP20 Battery "jump start" worked like a champ
Just tried the NP20 "jump start" and it worked like a champ, my battery is now charging and I won't have to buy a new one. Just need to remember to keep it charged and remove from camera if not going to use it for a while.....
