This is a great bag!
I've had this bag for a couple years and I really like it. It's roomy, durable, and is easy to take along with you.
I've climbed all over Yosemite and Salmon Creek Falls with this bag and it's protected my equipment well. and yes, it's been dropped a few times.

Great for a beginner photographer +
This is the first camera bag that I have bought as I start my career as a photographer and it is good for know. There are enough pockets and compartments for my dSLR, flash, lens, and my Point and shoot camera as well. I also have stashed in it my extra memory cards and batteries. It has a dedicated tripod strap that is on the underside of the pack. The outside "light jacket holder" is a joke and it appears to be more for decoration than anything else. I would have like to have small zipper pockets for my memory cards instead of the elastic pockets.

It should be considered a storage bag, not a backpack
While this bag works great as a storage device (customizable compartments and plenty of room for a number of accessories) it should NOT be considered for use as a backpack. The straps and the bag itself are poorly designed with regards to comfort while using as a "backpack". The straps are nothing to write home about, but worse still are the inside components of the bag that, when carried as a backpack, create pressure points throughout the back of the bag and cause discomfort over even the shortest distances.

If you simply need a gear bag, this will work great. If you plan on carrying your gear on your back, look for a different pack.

Deluxe Value...
I was stunned by the price of photo backpacks from some of the big names. I almost scanned past the Canon product here because Canon-brand stuff isn't always bargain-priced.

That's not the case here. I did a double-take when I saw the price. I could not believe it was so affordable. After dropping a serious chunk of change on the Canon 5D Mk II, I was ready for a bargain, and at the same time something that would hold the items I want to take shooting.

I was never fond of the classic "camera bag", rectangle with a strap type carry method. They burden a single shoulder, don't stay put, and from a style point of view, let's just say, it leaves a lot to be desired.

I use backpacks very often, so this really fits my mode of operation. The pack itself is highly configurable, has room for a few lenses, the camera, as well as the ancillary items you really should keep with - batteries, memory cards, body and lens caps, filters, and so on.

I reversed the compartment so the camera is at the bottom because with the battery grip, it was a bit tight at the top of the compartment. I too blacked out the conspicuous Canon logos (both the metal one and the smaller, two-sided cloth tab). I like the blacked out look and wonder why they don't just put black material on there to begin with, but I guess if you like Bling, you're good to go.

The long story short for me is I saved a couple hundred dollars and got myself a nice backpack that should serve my needs very well. It's just large enough to bring a good selection of stuff, but small enough to make me stop and think what I really need rather than overburden myself!

Canon Deluxe Photo Bag
I am VERY satisfied with this product. Great storage options - moveable dividers. Great for the recreational photographer. I am able to fit my Canon DSLR, multiple lenses, video camera, digital camera, and all necessary chargers/cords that are associated with each piece of equipment, plus much more. Also has external straps, so taking a tripod along with you is no inconvenience. Not too mention, it was HALF the price of any retail store! Even has a hip belt, which makes hiking with this pack very comfortable. Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!!! Highly recommend!

Canon Cameras History

Canon Corporation is a world-known manufacturer of office equipment ranging from printers and fax machines to scanners and copying machines.

The amount of photographic equipment produced by Canon is rather moderate in comparison to their other products. But it is in demand around the world. Don’t forget that it is the photographic cameras that the company began its business with.

As early as in 1933 Goro Yoshida and his brother-in-law, Sabura, founded the Precision Optical Instruments Laboratory in Tokyo. Their goal was to create a Japanese camera and make it known throughout the world. To begin with, the young people bought up and examined most advanced German models of that day. The enterprise was sponsored by Takeshi Mitarai, best friend of Uchida, a prosperous doctor, who later became president of the company.
