Secret of my Success
You don't have to own an Olympus camera to use this lens. I own a Fuji S200EXR as well as a Canon Rebel Tl1. With the right step-down adapter, you can use this lens with just about any camera! With my 250mm zoom, the autofocus, IS work perfectly. If you can't see shelling out 1K++ for a 500mm lens you might use once in awhile, this is the ticket. If you want to shoot your son/daughter in band in the fall season, this combo will work very well. One caveat: not for pro photographers. This combo will not withstand the bangs and bruises lenses would normally take in a pro (i.e., daily use) environment. Nor will it compare with the L series lenses - but it will come close . . .

my panasonic fz 18 with the tcon 17
After reading on various internet sites , I decided to purchase the Olympus tcon 17 for my Panasonic fz 18. Installing the tcon 17 with a proper adaptor is easy on my fz 18. I mostly take pics of my daughters playing soccer, so close up pics is an eaze with the tcon 17. If you own a Panasonic fz 18 , i highly recommend the tcon 17.

Olympus TCON-1.7x Teleconverter Lens
The Olumpus TCON-1,7x Telephoto Converter Lens has performed very well. Has now turned my Panasonic FZ28 into a powerful Super Zoom Camera. This combination is a great alternative to investing in an SLR with a
lens of simialr power. In order to have this type of magnification with an SLR lense you would have to spend thousands of dollars. Don't expect it to match the qualtiy of a professional SLR and high power lens.
But at approximately $100.00, it is a no brainer. Using this teleconverter lens with my panasonic camera does reduce the wide angle of 27mm to 55mm but the added magnification is a real bonus. Comes with a nice
lens case and protective caps. I see no reason to pay 3 times as much for the Panasonic Teleconverter Lens. The Olympus seems to perform just as well, according to the reviews out there. Over all I am very happy with this purchase.

Olympus Cameras History

Olympus continued the tradition of manufacturing high-quality optics through the development of camera lenses, starting in 1934. Two years later the Zuiko lens was born.
