Customers Reviews 2008-12-23 Exactly what I needed. Doing slide conversions. Camera ate through 4 sets of batteries.
Love the power adapter.
Thx, KLJ | 2008-12-17 Good quality and reliability Used it for a couple of years and is still working as it is supposed. | 2008-07-31 Way overpriced, recharge batteries instead It's extremely unfortunate but I can't help looking at this as a predatory product. There's no good reason to make the camera require a proprietary design to begin with but then to charge this much money for it -- it's insulting. The quality is fine but for less than half the cost, you can buy a charger plus four AA batteries and recharge them galore. Heck, you could buy three more sets of perfectly good AA batteries and never ever run out of juice.
I'm a Canon fan but enough is enough. The camera's Excellent, the lenses are Fair to Good, the AC adapter is a bad buy for the money.
| 2007-11-28 Hahaha, very late review.... great working product. Indeed, if you have a Canon Powershot you will need this AC device when you transfer pictures from camera to PC. I had mine for almost two years and it works. | 2007-11-23 Why should this be so expensive? I can understand having a charger for a laptop, but this I don't quite understand; at least not for this price. I would highly suggest getting some good rechargeable batteries (Powerex or Eneloop) and a good charger (MAHA or La Crosse). Right now I'm charging the batteries (energizer) for my camera, and all my other batteries are in use. I figured that getting the adapter would be useful; but now that I've seen the price, I have to reconsider. I'm just going to buy eight rechargeable batteries. That way I'll always have a charged set, I can use them for other purposes should the need arise. | |

Canon Cameras HistoryCanon Corporation is a world-known manufacturer of office equipment ranging from printers and fax machines to scanners and copying machines.
The amount of photographic equipment produced by Canon is rather moderate in comparison to their other products. But it is in demand around the world. Don’t forget that it is the photographic cameras that the company began its business with.
As early as in 1933 Goro Yoshida and his brother-in-law, Sabura, founded the Precision Optical Instruments Laboratory in Tokyo. Their goal was to create a Japanese camera and make it known throughout the world. To begin with, the young people bought up and examined most advanced German models of that day. The enterprise was sponsored by Takeshi Mitarai, best friend of Uchida, a prosperous doctor, who later became president of the company.

In the following year, 1934, Japan's first domestically-made 35mm focal-plane shutter camera “was born” and was named "Kwanon" - after the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy. The trademark Canon was registered a year later.
The first consumer model Hansa Canon appeared in 1937 and the le... More About Canon Cameras |
