Customers Reviews 2009-11-04 Camera remote Igot the remote in a timly fashion, thank you very much for you quick service and price. | 2009-09-28 Does what it's supposed to do, but not what you want it to. My wife has an E-5XX series Olympus DSLR and has wanted a remote so she could take photos while the camera was mounted on a tripod without the camera shake of pushing the shutter button manually. This remote allows you do to that, but not in the way you'd expect to be able to. Unfortunately, the E-5XX camera body only has an IR sensor on the front of the camera, not on the top or back. This would allow you to set the camera up and take a picture of yourself, such as in group photos. So, when she wants to set up the camera aimed at a bird feeder or other situations, she can't sit behind the camera and hit the remote to snap the picture. Instead she needs to hold her hand out in front of the camera body, trying not to block the shot.
Ultimately, this isn't necessarily a fault of the remote. It does what it is designed to do. The direct problem is the camera body not having IR sensors in better locations. But because both the camera and the remote are Olympus designs, the functionality suffers due to lack of forethought. | 2009-09-14 Olympus RM-1 remote Works as stated. Could be cheaper for what it is. One issue with it is that you need to be in front of the camera to use it. Limited angle use. Would be much better if you could use it from behind the camera. For night-time longer exposure shots (ie. fireworks, lighted bridges), it works fine because you can click in front of the camera and pull away with no ill effect on the image. Good for (yourself included) family portraits. Very small so that it fits in any small pocket in your camera bag; but could also be lost easily. Not a necessity, but not bad to have as an option. | 2009-09-03 didgital remote This little device lets me be in the picture or shoot from a different angle. Glad I got it and the company delivery it on time.
Thanks. | 2009-06-30 Does what I need it to do This remote fires the shutter. It can fire instantly, with 2-second delay, or bulb for long exposure. Some of the buttons don't trigger any function on my DSLR, but that is okay. The range is good. I was able to shoot a family photo with 15 people(myself included) at the distance required to frame the shot. Works for me. | |

Through its history Olympus Company has manufactured various types of cameras: medium-format cameras, fully automatic zoom cameras, 35mm cameras, EE-equipped cameras, autofocus cameras - in different series.
The history of Olympus cameras began in 1936, when they introduced their first camera, the Semi-Olympus I. It was very expensive camera for that time.
In 1959 the first truly innovative camera series was launched - compact and portable (for their time) PEN models. They were half-frame format, allowing 72 pictures of 18 × 24 mm format on a stand... More About Olympus Cameras |
