People give low points on photos that clearly are within Subject range.
It seem that all photos should be rated 10 on Subject or they should
be removed. Anyway I just can't see the logic here.

For me, I vote 1 to 10 on subject based on how interesting I think the subject is, not whether or not it meets the criteria. So, if I see a picture and I think the subject is particularly interesting, I'll give it a higher rating. If I see a picture and I think the subject is just so-so, I'll give it a lower rating. I think that's probably the way it was intended to be.

The system seems to be rather simple: 1) we have the topic, 2) we load up the shot on this topic. 3) People vote.
But at every turn of this system there can be some problems.
1) The topic can be perceived in different ways.
2) The shot doesn't match 'cause someone hasn't read the explanation.
3) Moderators can be rather "moderate" and leave the ambiguous picture in the contest.
If you think that some picture is inappropriate, please, use the Alert button.
What concerns the Subject, I agree with Himself. We don't need to decide if the picture matches the topic, but we should decide if this picture is interesting.
But here is the problem in the variety of our individual views. |
