hi. i'm thinking of getting a new camera as i've realized my sony dsc-w30 is very limited when it comes to taking macro shots and landscapes. i'd like to hear what your recommendations are. i'd like something easy to use, handy, but takes reasonably good macro shots. a camera with more flexibility but not too complicated. and not to expensive either.
i'd appreciate suggestions since i'm at a loss and wouldn't really know where to begin once i enter the camera store. _________________ I love this crazy, tragic, sometimes almost magic, awful, beautiful life. |

| Having been in your situation only a few years ago, I opted for a Canon XT at the time, an excellent entry level SLR with a dizzying array of available lenses. All but the most critical of pixel peepers can tell the difference between the XT, XTi, 20d, 30d, even the 40d at lower ISO's. If you're interested in macro, you can later acquire one of Canon's excellent dedicated macro lenses (the 100mm is exceptional) or a Sigma 105, one I heartily recommend. Be careful, though. Once you start down this road, there's no end. LOL. Good luck with whatever you decide upon. |
