| I am trying to work on my night shots took this one at ealry evening and I noticed a blue hue in the finished product anyone have any ideas why this effect? Also the lights appear a bit too bright and loose their desired effect. Appreciate the help as I am a neophyte and now working on my shutter mode in the evening times Thanks |

Hey john
I'm not the expert here but you may have a camera setting out of whack. Pushed the blues way high.
I used a hue and saturation adjustment (just on the blue band). Is that more what you were looking for?

Thanks that may be the problem - now how do I fix it on my camera? I set everything back to default settings. Is this an issue perhaps with the white balance? Here is the settings I used:
Camera: Nikon D40
Exposure: 3 sec (3)
Aperture: f/10
Focal Length: 18 mm
ISO Speed: 400
Exposure Bias: 0/6 EV
ISO Speed: 400
Exposure Program: Aperture priority
Metering Mode: Pattern
Color Space: sRGB
CFA Pattern: BLUE GREEN GREEN RED

Try a few shots with the default settings and see if that helps. Your camera should have an auto whitebalance feature.
CFA Pattern: BLUE GREEN GREEN RED I'm not sure what this setting does in your camera but it sounds like it could be the culpret... Check your camera docs.

Pretty picture! I used to get this blueish tint when the white balance was set on fluorescent, I read somewhere to use the tungsten setting for outdoor night shots. It seemed to help.

| That is a pretty shot, but other than what's already been mentioned, I have no idea how to fix the blue tint. |

On my Kodak it has a snow landscape (or something like that) setting that seems to help avoid most of the blues.
I took a different approach on a "fix" for your shot - which is a beauty by the way. |
