| Hello, i have a canon powershot S3 IS, i want to create blurred backgrounds. any tips on how to do so would be great, thanks |

Use maximum zoom and the lowest f/stop available (f/2.8) It is called limited depth of field (DOF) or amount in focus from front to back. The lower the f/stop the less DOF you will have, the higher the f/stop the more you will have in focus from the front of the image to the back.
