Hello from 200 miles above the arctic circle in Alaska. Point Hope alaska the oldest continually inhabited settlement or village in all of North America. LIfe can accurately be traced back to over 2,600 years to this one spot of land.
800 Inupiaq Eskimos live in this village, they live and survive @ 50 below zero from hunting the Mighty Bowhead Whale, this is the lifestyle and culture of this village. Life is hard, simple and harsh in the extremly unforgiving Arctic enviorment.
We obtain our food, from the ocean. This is how we live. come along and join and learn the way of the Eskimo from the warmth and comfort of your home or office. |

Well I can't post links I cannot attach images, I cannot embed images. so until this ban is lifted or I have to wait a week. there is no sense in my trying to convince anyone of the content of what I wish to show and amaze you with a lifestylell and culture your not aware of.
If I type in the word Igloo I bet you THINK you know what that word is and what it means.. I bet your wrong.!!
An Iglu is not made out of snow or ice, NOT IN ALASKA, above the Arctic Circle since eons ago, for thousands of years, an Iglu is constructed using whale bones & sod !
Lift the restricitons on my posting, and I will show you amazing photographs! |

Majik_Imaje, thank you for joining the website.
Your post sounds sort of fantasy or fairy tale to me... |
Well I am not living in any fantasy or making up any fairy tales!!
I live in the Arctic. with Eskimo's that is FACT:
my images have won countless awards and have been published many times in various media.
High in the Arctic Eskimo has been posted on over 35 photo forums all over the internet:
Just GOOGLE: HIGH in the Arctic Eskimo and you can see first hand the fantasy and fairy tales !!
I had to melt snow to process sixty rolls of color film.. this was no easy task.. but today we have digital .. ha ha ha ha ha.. that toy will not last 20 minutes outside @ 50 below zero !!
My camera(s) were encased in ice due to the incredible cold and the unrelenting north wind. 50 below zero with 50 mph winds brings the chill factor to well below 100 degrees below zero..
There is not a digital camera made that can take that type of punishment and continue to work. Once those batteries die (quickly) then that camera is useless. there is no place to go to warm up.. !! FILM is here to stay. |
