Photo contests at this web site are intended for its members. So we would like to hear all your comments, complaints, ideas about photo contests. Feel free to say what you do not like and what is missing.

It is not a secret that our website is quite young, it does not have a huge amount of members yet, but with your help we hope to make it more attractive to other prhotography lovers.

Feel free to leave your comments in this post or pm me your messages.

What if there were separate digital and 35mm photo contests. For the 35mm people would be required to submit their contact sheet along with their images as well. They could scan them in.

Or have only b/w 35mm photo contest and b/w digital contest. Then we could have different categories that people could submit pictures to. Like there could be submissions for candid shots, abstract shots, Nature/landscape shots, along those lines...

just some things to think about...i didn't see any distinction between digital and 35mm on this site...i know it probably seem hard to tell if people have edited the photos or not...but maybe having the contact sheet would help prevent that...i dunno let me know what you think.

Thanks for the ideas.

35mm photo contests might be an option when we get a good number of registered members. It is a fact that most people make use of digital cameras nowadays.

I will make notes of your other ideas as well.

Well i was wondering actually how you can view the pictures that are in the contest before the contest ranking began... The only way i've been able to do this is by some miricale someone entered the contest and they are on the home page as recently uploaded pics.... Is there a way to change that and make it easier to view the pictures in contests before ranking?

HeatherLynne,

We did it on purpose to strictly divide the photo contests into 2 parts:

1. submission phase
2. voting phase

I also wondered first time visiting the contest, but it's quite an essential trick :)

This doesn't just apply to contests, but I was wondering if it was possible to allow a larger display size for images on this site. I believe that the maximum dimension for the galleries is currently 400 pixels. If we could get that up to around 640 pixels, it would make for much better viewing. Just a thought.

Jeff,

I have updated max width and height of a picture to 640x640. Let me know if it is ok.
