In this article there are some interesting photos of a few Russian churches made in 1910 and today. The fact that makes them more interesting the 1910 photos are color photos also.

I can't believe that these photos were taken 100 years ago! As far as i know color photography appeared about 30 years ago only.

Well, it is quite possible. According to Wikipedia, the first permanent color photo was taken in 1861 and the first fully practical color film, Autochrome, reached the market in 1907.
