I think you've already answered this question

| Anyway, people would stop voting for it if someone did that |
similar pictures are as boring as the same pictures. |

| nope, I didn't answer it. People stop voting if it's continuous.. but if it's only in two contests then who's gonna care? |

Chances are no one will prolly care.... But why eneter the same or almost identical pic in two contests?? Do you not have more imgaes that can fit the contests??? Sometimes a lack of entries in contests does happen, but allowing for images to be entered more then once isnt gonna fix that.. The contests that lack entires are usually the contests that are more technical..
I agree that if you have a photo you didnt get enough feed back on in a contests should be placed in the forum with some kind of explanation from the author as to why they put it in the forum and what kind of feed back they are looking for.. You dont have to post a pic over and over in contests to get feed back on it... Chances are if you put it in a forum, you will get more feed back then you ever will in a contest! |

Not being allowed to submit one image to multiple contests has nothing to do with the lack of participation in the contests.
It could be that the subject of the contest doesn't interest everyone, or members don't live in areas where certain kinds of shots can be taken.
Example: Winter Landscapes - I live in South Florida and we don't have "Winter".
Babies, Teens, Kids - Some of us don't have babies, teens, and kids. My daughter is all grown and expecting her own child.
Trains - I live west of the city and there aren't any trains out this way.
People also need to keep in mind that there may be members who don't drive, are disabled and can't get around, need someone to take them places, etc.
Some members might find the subject just plain boring and not feel like participating.

| Seems like most people are against my opinion, so I guess no change in the rules for now.. I just figured there would be more submissions in the contest since I noticed a lack of participation in more and more contests. Also, if I take two very very similar pictures and submit them into two different contests, then how are people supposed to know that they're different? They can be two different files that just look almost identical. Where's the judgement on that? |

| starstef601, I don't really understand why you're worrying about the subject. I've just looked through your gallery: you have a variety of good photos and it seems to me you can take them more and better :D |

Stef,
I'm not sure why your photos were disqualified, but looking through past contests it doesn't take long to see that several photos have won in more than one contest. So maybe the rules haven't always been the same. Whatever the rules are they should be applied to everyone equally.

| A photo just showed up on the Home page "Hall of Fame" box that is currently entered in a contest (Blue). ???? Premonition I guess. lol |
The contest is over and sure enough 1st place it is, just as it was shown in the Hall of Fame, BEFORE the contest was over. Amazing!!! _________________ -- |

I didn't mean to make a huge deal, just trying to get my opinion across. I really didn't even know that was a rule until recently so that's one of the reasons I'm not really for it. Also, I wanted to enter one of my pictures that I already used once into a contest because I only had one picture of that subject.
Sorry for making this into a huge issue, but I now understand what everyone has to say about it.. so thanks =)
and hopefully you all don't hate me by now lol.. I don't have any bad intentions though. |

You're not making a huge deal I am..lol I don't usually get involved in debates that happen in the forum. But there is something about fairness
that seems to be an issue with me these days. I'm just getting old and cranky I guess. Anyway......... la la la ....this is all pretty insignificant if you look at the big picture. _________________ -- |
