| I recently put a contest up for Non Barn Yard Animals - NO EDIT!!.. well i happened to notice there are 2 pictures in the contest from 2 diff photographers that are clearly animals we see everyday or around our house... One is of cows butts and the other is a lady bug... I see both of those pretty much daily.. The contest rules state that you cant use pictures of animals seen daily or household pets... But my question is, Why do people not go by the guide lines on the contest??? I really just wanted to see what people could come up with animal wise not being able to use the same old shots they use in every catagory!!... Sorry if i maybe ranting. But its annoying. Without fail someone always puts in a picture that DOES NOT fit the contest.. Whats the point of the author of the contest wrighting down a discription for a contest if no one reads it and follows it??? When you look at the contests do you read the discription??? If you dont will you please start?????? |

This is the problem we are faced with from the day the project was launched.
There is a simple solution to this - remove the images and notify the person via e-mail why his photo is disqualified.
For this, we need a volunteer who agrees to monitor the current contest submissions and do the notification work.
Please PM or e-mail if you are THE ONE who will do this. _________________ New here? Welcome to our community! |

| How about the author of the contests gets to have that job since they are the ones that know what kind of pictures they intended for the contests!! |

| Or maybe have a report button for the person who started contest that notifies the volunteer, who then does the job for them? That would probably be a bit easier on the side of the contest makers. |

Sorry Heatherlynn... For my part when I first glanced at the contest subject I thought it read "barnyard animals" ... wasn't till I looked the second time that the NON jumped out at me. The photo was taken down.
BTW... I thought the contest submissions were supposed to be hidden until the end of the submission period when the voting started. Has that changed? Or do you know something the rest of us don't? ;) I also thought the author of the photos was hidden.
While were on the subject I suppose that the photo of the alligator and turtles in that contest should also be taken down. It was just a top three finisher in another recent contest. Also another frequent "RULES" violation!!!

No changes here... You just can see the latest submissions - 3 photos - on the home page, but not all submissions. And you can't see the authors until the contest is finished. _________________ New here? Welcome to our community! |

Eugene... I hate to differ with you but there is a simple way you can see all contest submissions in an open contest and they include the names of the authors.

I would expect the Contest Sponsor to have the ability to moderate the contest while it is in progress and be able to send rejection notices to those who make entries that are not suitable. The contests that I have seen do not have so many entries that it would place a high demand on the Sponsor's time to review the entries.
The ability to moderate would have to be provided for the contest sponsor and limit control to their contests. |

The site has no sponsors and it is practically a one person project at the moment.
I would also like to add from my past experience that even if we had sponsors they would NEVER moderate contests. _________________ New here? Welcome to our community! |

| LoL JLW... There is a trick to getting around not being able to see what pics are in a contest as well as who took them.. But only until pics go to voting then u cant tell... Its simple actually.... All you have to do is enter a picture into the catagory, then go view your profile and view the picture you just entered in the contest. Doing that it will show you what pictures are in the contest and who took them!!! Thanks for taking down the pics that don't fit the catagory!! |
