| You're definitely right, but unfortuneately, not everyone thinks the same way you and most of us do. The joy of winning is just a good feeling for them. This is one of the reasons a few of us are making a proposition to add judges to the voting stage. |

How is it even possible for people to have more than one ID??
Wouldn't you have to have multiple computers?? The e-mail address would be the same wouldn't it. Seems like alot of trouble to go to.
Plus it defeats the whole purpose. _________________ -- |

| People can have more than one account on a computer and just use different email addresses. It's not just that, I think having judges would just be a good idea in general. |

What about doing a judge panel that would narrow the contests down to say the top 3-5 pictures in a contest, from there everyone votes on the best picture outta the 3-5 pictures the judges picked.
I think it would be nice if we did something like this. Everyone could and would still get an opportunity to vote on the pictures. And it would help to ensure the best pictures were the ones being voted on. |

| I think that's a good idea, or as said earlier, having 2 different votes: a public and a judging. |

| Ok so i was just wondering if we can some how put some kind of regulations on contests themselves.. Uhm , it seems like its the SAME kinda contests over and over again.. I mean right now we have a cats and kittens catagory in voting... Didnt we just have that same contest a few weeks ago?????? And also there is a current contest for Your Passion... Didnt we also have that same contest within the last few months.. I like entering contests to challange myself.. How do you challange yourself though when the contests are all repeats.. Cant we be a little more original in the photo contest department??? Can we do something to ensure its NOT the same exact contests over and over and over??? |

Though it is hard to control what photo contests our website members start, it is easy to control your own contests so you can start/ put in queue a number of contests that you find interesting.
And let the website members choose either to enter new or 'old' photo contests. _________________ New here? Welcome to our community! |

Two things:
1. Since no one is winning any prizes or getting money for winning or placing in a contest, it seems kinda silly for us to be too too concerned about it. Certainly there are contests I thought I should win and didn't even place - life's tough though. There's something to learn from that fact, and it isn't that everyone is crazy for not picking me to win. To me, the point of the contests is to learn something about how one's photos "play out" when compared to other similar images. if someone is so incredibly small as to try and cheat his/her way to a win, then I guess we should just feel sorry for them and look at the ratings we got for our photos. Thats a good learning method in itself. Personally, I don't mind any changes that are made to the contest rules. No matter what happens in that regard - I win, because I get to hear feedback and thats the most important thing to me.
2. Repeating contest... I think some of us who are relatively new are not aware of what's gone on before we got there. But it might be interesting to have contests less involved with subjects (cats, dogs, etc.) and more involved with photographic techniques (motion, low light, etc.).
Either way, its still a pretty cool site, and for all of you who don't pick my images to win every single time, you're out of your minds! LOL... _________________ randy.keller@yahoo.com |

Great idea.
One more point - most new members enter amateur contests. So, why not launch photographic techniques focused contests in the advanced section? _________________ New here? Welcome to our community! |
