I would like to address all our photo contests and forum members.
If you check our forum registrations - number of members grows with every passing day. We have antispam tools enabled, so all new registrations come from real people.
If you check our stats on home page where our top photo contest members are listed you will notice that the list hardly changes for months.
Could anyone share some ideas what we miss, what we should do differently, etc to make, from your point of view, the website more attractive, appealing, etc to new members?
Any ideas, tips, thoughts are welcome.

| No doubt, some sort of prizes could attract more contest participants, but I remember we have discussed that before - the website needs either sponsors or to introduce some min fee to join contests (I am sure that there will be even a fewer pasrticipants if you make photo contest fee based), |

| i dont think prizes is the answer. i know some people who dont join this site for a couple reasons. they dont think the people who enter the advanced contests should be able to enter the open contests at the same time. dont seem to be fair. also, i have noticed the same pictures being entered over and over. if a photo wins a contest, it should not be allowed to be entered again. have seen other sites that have that rule. fresh photos for each contest would be a good thing. jmo. |

to strobe: we are going to resume our search to attract sponsors once summer time is over. The website grows in traffic and members and it should be sooner or later of some interest to potential niche advertisers.
to hemi15: I like your point about fresh images for each contest, I put it on the list. Could you expand your idea about standard/ advanced contests - I did not get it, sorry.

| all i really meant was, members should not be able to be in both contests at the same time. the word advanced implies that the person taking the pictures has more experiance and better pictures. open implies to me that it is for beginners with less experence. it kind of keeps some people i know from submitting their pictures. also, if a picture has won a contest it should not be allowed to be submitted in another contest. i know some members worry about stats and do not like to take their photos off because their numbers go down. dont think that should be so important. |

I have noticed that when a contest is in the advanced section, hardly anyone enters it. I know there is not as many advanced members, but more advanced members seem to enter the contests when they are in the open section. I think that everyone on this site is here for fun, and to get some tips on how to improve shots (something that seems to be lacking latley)! To me the term advanced, on this site, just means you have more experince on this site, been here longer, entered more contests! Not so much you have more experince as a photographer! My name is on the top of the advanced list. And I really cant claim to be that advanced in photography! Also, I don't think that people really care if their number's go down. I think it's just nice to know how many contests you have entered. See just how far you have come on this site. And if no one else feels that way... I know i do!
