That is not abad idea, however I feel it has to high a probability of backfire.
Let me explain my opinion (IMHO as Chieflong would put it)
Using the term sick that was a example ealier in this thread.
If the comment of sick (in this case meaning that is an awesome picture!) is removed. How would the commenter feel about it?
Intent of both parties is positive.
Perception of both parties is negative.
This is a rare condition but plausable. |

Unfortunatly, someone will always have there feelings hurt! Someone will always feel it is unfair! Since I am the one that did leave the comment, "Sick", Let me just say. That I would not have been offended by the author deleting my comment! It is their picture, their work of art! Heathe®Lynne |

| sorry heather. i dont think that would work to well. the photographer would wonder how many saw the comment and still be upset. just giving your opinion and how you would fix it would be enough. no need to add a few extra details that have nothing to do with the rating of the picture. i think that is what most people dont like. |

I joined this site a few weeks back and couple of the things I notice are...
Most posts in the forums are months old. There seems to be very little interaction among users of this site... I would like to see real time chat channel added so one could get to know the other photographers a lil better and get quick answers to simple questions from those who are active on the site.
Perhaps some guidelines as to the types of comments that could be usefull to the photographers would help.. IE. Good crop, excellent composition, etc. And how about requiring the comments both good and bad : A simple section that says... What I like about this photo and what I don't like about this photo before your allowed to cast a vote.
Being able to see the pictures being submitted to the contests during the posting period would be helpfull. There were a couple of contests that weren't real clear as to appropriate subject matter so I just skipped trying to enter them.
Just some thoughts...

| i agree with jlw. have always said there is not enough members posting in the forums. even in the photo section. when someone does post a picture, there is only 2 or 3 members tht bother to make a comment. good or bad. |

| I'm still fairly new to this site, but I visit it everyday and I like it. I have a hard time putting myself out there sometimes though. So a "welcoming committee" of sorts would be nice. I think some people just need for someone else to make the first move in order to feel comfortable enough in putting themselves out there. |

Hey Chris - this is one of the friendliest sites you'll find! Welcome and PLEASE don't be shy and post your photos! Go ahead and enter the contests - it's a sure way of learning the "art" of photography. Everyone here was new at one time or another.
Looking forward to seeing some of your work.
