Okay, I guess I really don't understand this new voting system. When you look back at the contests, they have all changed Who the first second and third place winner is.. There are a couple that it says i won. but know i didnt and i won with only a few votes while others had many many votes! Don't get it! The two contests i can think of off the top of my head that are like this is the Shilouette and Anything goes catagory! What is that all about. Honestly i dont know that i like this new rating system!

to Heatherlynne:
The new scoring system also affected the old contests. All votes have been averaged.
OLD SYSTEM: just added points of every vote cast: 5+6+2+9 = 22 points.
NEW SYSTEM: adds points and divides them by the number of our members who cast vote for this image: 5+6+2+9/ 4 = 5.5 points.
Added to that now there are two scoring bars to evaluate the image from two points:
1. TECHNIQUE

| Thanks for the explanation of the new scoring system .... I think it's going to work well. But there is one thing that I am a little uncomfortable about and that is judging for technique .... and I am only speaking for myself. I'm not sure that I am an experienced enough photographer to be judging technique. I've been on a learning curve since I've joined as a beginner and feel that there is a lot more that I (personally) need to learn before I can comfortably vote for technique skills. Thus, I'm not sure what to do when I go to vote for technique .... any ideas?? Larissa |

Sorry for not adding this explanation earlier.
Photo technique is still a subjective area, you critique a photo from a few technical points:
1. Focus: properly focused?
2. Exposure: colors, contrast
3. Lighting
4. Composition _________________ New here? Welcome to our community! |

| For me it is more difficult to jugde the subject. I think that most images fit all right the topic. I feel like giving everybody 10, or 9. |
