Within a week or so we will introduce a new scoring system.
From now on there will be two weighted scores to vote:
- TECHNIQUE (points 1-5)
- SUBJECT (points 1-10)
All votes will be averaged and the winner will be the person with the highest number of points.
Let me know if you have any comments. _________________ New here? Welcome to our community! |

This is a good move in my opinion. What you will need though is to develop a definiton for "technique" and what is deserving of a 5 and what is deserving of a 1. Also I would like to see anyone scoring less than half the points available to post a comment as to why it was scored low. This would help those seeking to improve their skills with some feedback. _________________ There's only one YOU so make it count!

Yes, I think you are right about the definition. It will not solve all disputable voting issues, but it will show the direction. _________________ New here? Welcome to our community! |

| I think that feedback is the most important thing. Most of us are just amateur photographer who are looking for ways to improve skills. And critique may help a lot here. |

That's a real welcome step... Am sure our photos will have better evaluation that way..
Also I agree to Novice... we are looking forward to more and more comments so that we may improve our shots. |

| I have no clue about how the pics have been evaluated now... Is it based on the popularity of the pics? or average points secured by the entry? I think if the new system comes into place.. lets not alter the results of previous contests. |

Love the new voting system! Just a suggestion though - is it possible to hide the photographers name 'til after the voting is closed? Also I noticed a little glitch in the "Occupation" contest where one of the photos is currently showing an average of 19.62 out of a possible 10 for subject vote. Thanks for this great site! chieflong _________________ There's only one YOU so make it count!

| Chieflong, I think it is a great idea to hide the authors' names in contest. I think it will make voting honest. |
