I really enjoy browsing and voting for images entered into this website photo contests. I am an amateur, and I have many things to learn.

I admire many images added to macro contest, but even more I enjoy reading the comments in the contest. I think it makes the website more attractive for other photographers.

Hi everybody. I would like oce more to apologize to all of those who participated in this contest for my too strong comments. I would also like to thank to everybody, who stayed on this site. I promise not to say a word in the future. I really do not understand lisu decision (I really liked lisu images, even gave 10 points twice, when we were rivals in a contest). The bee on that image, tha spider, the flower, it is everything You could shoot with a normal 50 mm lens from some distance, and macro photography is much closer. This is why it is called so. Lisu mentioned also, thst I may be giong to micro, but micro i associated with microscope (if we use technical terms). Sorry once again for my reaction, and I really want to see more colorful (and not only) from all of You. Happy shooting

I think that a constructive critique is absolutely necessary. We are here 'cause we like sharing, but we (at least me) also here to learn new things. I would always like to know what you people think of my stuff.

Floral Macro contest caused much debates on the issue of what is macro and what is not. I hope that nobody took offence and nobody will leave a site. We want Shotaddict to be a home both for amateur and professional photographers, where you can communicate, find information, share photos and share your thoughts. Let's try to be polite and open to 'critque'. A critique can be very helpful, but we should be very careful about the words we use.

Remembet that a critique should be thoughtful and reasonable. Do not mix up 'critique' with 'criticism'. There are shots which are good from all sides, so remeber to mention positive points as well. Besides, you should keep in mind the level of the photographer who took the picture. Our goal is to help beginners enhance thier skills and encourage them in their hobby by suggesting ways to improve their works.

Let's be polite. Those who comment, remeber to mention both strong points (each photo has them) and weak points. Those who get critiques, take them, but don’t let them upset you or get under your skin. If you don’t agree with a comment, smile and say thanks.

Zayresku and Lisu, you both are good photographers and devoted members of shotaddict. We appreciate your support and hope to see you around the site in future.

I just wanted to say that I entered two photos into this contest that were close-ups, rather than true macro shots. I guess that I am just used to the way things are done on other photography sites--where macro and close-up photos are generally lumped into the same category.

I only hope that my mistake did not influence others to enter close-up shots into this contest as well. If this is the case, please accept my apologies.

Hi molja and everybody from admin. Of course I agree with Your words. I just used a bad language and wrote thoat comment in a hurry. BUt remember, the only thought was to convince everybody there were no macro shots, as the theme was Floral Macro. Jeffg, babylon, photolady. I appreciate Your comments and thank YOu for Your support. Jeffg - I do not think Your submission of close up images could make everybody do the same. I think that everybody just thought they had real macro shots, not knowing the difference between a close up and macro. I hope You will like the book by Scott. Thanks again and once more sorry to everybody, I really think Your images are colorful and beautiful in thier own, I was just awaiting closer shots. Happy shooting to everybody!

Here You can have a look between typical (this is standard) 1:1 macro shots, and those close ups, not being macr ones. regards
